Deemed the “new master of pin-up art” Good Morning America, renowned body paint artist and photographer VARGAS has been awarded more than a dozen First Place trophies in drawing and painting, while earning two scholarships, from Jersey City State College and Pratt Institute.
He has also shared his innovative skills as a Professor of the Arts at technical schools and seminars in Beijin, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Sto. Domingo, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Austria, Rome, Paris, Japan, Korea, London and many cities in the USA. As a featured artist at galleries in the Americas, Europe and Asia, VARGAS was most recently invited to show his works at the Museo de Bellas Artes in Venezuela, and to paint for Jean Paul Gaultier at the Life Ball Fashion Show in Vienna.
In 1989, he opened his own Photography and advertising studio, servicing major motion picture projects and photographing models and celebrities for countless publications.
His first renowned Calendar project featured 12 female models with painted body uniforms in the World Cup Soccer Calendar, and a 12-month production “Great Places To Visit in the World.” And “Pin-Ups” Among his accomplishments, VARGAS has been featured in the White House Rotunda, countless runway fashion shows (such as the Waldorf Astoria during New York’s Fashion Week and the Colombia Fashion Show), invited to be part of the team for Sports Illustrated, also featured Good Morning America, MTV and Telemundo; while clients include Anthony Queen, Marc Anthony, Placido Domingo, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente and Eugenio Derbez.
With his wife, Anabel, VARGAS owns and operates the Vargas Beauty Arts Academy, the Vargas Photography Studio and Vargas Beauty & Arts Pro Store—which sells his signature line of brushes —in West New York, N.J.
